There is a generous rebate program for your donation. See the City of Toronto’s Contribution Rebate Guide for details. Or, just look below for the dollar amount listed to see the cash rebate amount you can expect for a total contribution of that amount. Note that total contributions at $25 or less are not eligible for a cash rebate and the maximum rebate payable to any one contributor is $1,000.
$100 (only $25 out of pocket after the cash rebate).
$500 (only $175 out of pocket after the cash rebate).
$750 (only $300 out of pocket after the cash rebate).
$1,200 (only $558.33 out of pocket after the cash rebate).
Donations to any one candidate may not exceed $1,200; this amount is cumulative, such that if a contributor makes more than one campaign contribution (e.g. money, goods, and/or ticket purchase for a fundraising event), the total value of all the contributions cannot exceed $1,200.
The maximum total amount that a contributor can give to more than one candidate in the same jurisdiction (i.e. running for the same council or the same school board) is $5,000. For more information on Contributions, see Elections Toronto's 'Rules & Information' online resource.
